Serenity Cottage is located in the small community of Hillgrade on New World Island. On Route 340, pass through Summerford, Virgin Arm, Hillgrade (along the shore) and turn on to Country Road for about one kilometre.
Stay at Serenity Cottage and enjoy nature's beauty. Walk along the beach or take a stroll down Country Road and hear the sweet song of nature.
Enjoy a fire on the beach as the sun sets and don't forget your hot dogs and marshmallows!
Experience the peace and tranquillity of outport life from a home that was originally built in the early fifties. Serenity Cottage was built by the late Mr. Gordon Sansome. His wife, Mrs Alma Sansome, served as postmistress for 37 years. The post office served the residents of nearby communities and was run from a small building that was once attached to Serenity Cottage. It has since been removed, but the remaining house is much the same as it was when it was first built.
The cottage is your window to the ocean and you may catch a glimpse of a passing whale or even an iceberg, a common sight in the months of May and June.
Take a short stroll from the front door and find yourself at Hillgrade's Super Lobster Pool. Order a fresh cooked lobster, bring it back to the cottage and enjoy the mouth-watering taste.
Serenity Cottage has two bedrooms with double beds. We also provide a cot for extra persons. There is a full bath on the upper level. The lower level offers a large eat-in fully equipped kitchen, a large dining room, a sitting room and a living room.
Serenity Cottage is conveniently located near historic Twillingate, walking trails, parks, restaurants, boat tours and museums.
